Max Bill: Selected Works
Max Bill: Selected Works highlights Max Bill’s examination of the world through examples of Concrete art—art with no symbolic implications. The exhibition features 12 works created between 1935 and 1979, including lithographs, serigraphs and sculptures. The objects support the exploration of Bill’s fascination with the relationship between mathematics, engineering and visual arts, especially his interest in the Möbius strip.
In addition to his work as a sculptor and painter, Bill (1908–1994) was an architect, industrial designer, graphic designer and writer. Most of the works in the exhibition represent the Swiss artist’s mature period (1967–1979) when Bill was elected to the Swiss Federal Parliament and also served as an academic leader and influential author.
