The Firebird: Celebrating Five Years in Charlotte

The Firebird: Celebrating Five Years in Charlotte highlights the presence of the Firebird from its 2009 installation on the Bechtler plaza to its current popularity with the public and myriad photo seekers. The 17-foot whimsical sculpture was created in 1991 by Niki de Saint Phalle and is covered from top to bottom in pieces of mirrored and colored glass.
