LOCATION: THROUGHOUT THE MUSEUM

Encourage your child’s creative side by participating in special hands-on art activities and museum tours during Family Day at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Saturday, June 16 from noon to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free for children; adults receive a discounted ticket price of $4. 

Art activities are recommended for ages 5 and older and will take place throughout the museum. Hands-on projects will illustrate the methods and materials addressed in the exhibition Mid-Century Modernism: 1957 and the Bechtler Collection and the Doodle 4 Google display on view in the cafe.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

• Creating acrylic paintings and paper “stained glass.”
• Doodle art project based on the Doodle 4 Google™ contest. Winning entries in the day’s contest will be posted on the Bechtler’s Facebook page. (The Bechtler is the exhibition site for the North Carolina Doodle 4 Google finalists.)
• Museum-wide scavenger hunt and family-focused museum tours.

Visit the museum store during Family Day for an array of children's art books and toys. All children's merchandise will be discounted 10% on Family Day.

In celebration of Father’s Day, the museum offers all dads free admission Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17.
