Modernisn + Film | 16 Acres
LOCATION: BECHTLER MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 AT 6 P.M.
The rebuilding of Ground Zero is the most architecturally, politically and emotionally complex construction project in recent American history. The struggle to develop these 16 acres of 'sacred' land has encompassed 12 years, 19 government agencies and over $20 billion. Aside from the engineering challenges, 16 Acres profiles the various constituencies - politicians, developers, architects, insurers, local residents and relatives of 9/11 victims - professing conflicting claims to the site.
An event reception with a cash-only bar and free light bites begins at 6 p.m. in the Bechtler lobby followed by the presentation and film screening at 7 p.m. in the Wells Fargo Auditorium.
Tickets are $10 for the public, $8 for museum members and $5 for students (Student tickets may be purchased at the door or by phone. Must present student ID to claim). View the full 2018-'19 Modernism + Film lineup here.
