Duo Sonidos brings the striking combination of the guitar and violin to the forefront of classical chamber music and joins the talents of violinist William Knuth and guitarist Adam Levin. Based in Boston and Madrid, Duo Sonidos is at the vanguard of the guitar chamber music world. In 2010, the duo released their self-titled debut CD. Recently awarded First Prize at the Luys Milan International Chamber Music Competition in Valencia, Spain, the duo completed an extensive concert tour of Spain in late 2011.
The group is approachable to the crossover classical music audience who may not otherwise be interested in classical performances. Their name is a play on words. The Spanish word for sound, sonidos, when broken apart becomes “son dos,” meaning “there are two.”
During the Music and Museum program on November 5, Duo Sonidos will perform selections by Handel, Ricardo Llorca and Jorge Muniz. The group also performs at the Bechtler's Living Room concert on November 3. Living Room concert details and tickets here.
