Sounds of love will fill the 4th-floor gallery February 15 when the Bechtler presents a Valentine's Day-themed Music and Museum concert. Soprano Helen Goldsby joins the Bechtler Ensemble for a performance of Chamber of Love VI: Serenades and Ballades featuring compositions by Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, Fauré and Debussy. Performing at this Music and Museum concert are violinist Tatiana Karpova, pianist Cynthia Lawing and cellist Tanja Bechtler.

Goldsby's career has taken her from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to Valencia, Spain, singing a variance of repertoire. The North Carolina native has performed various operatic roles throughout the U.S. and abroad, including Countess in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Mimi in Puccini's La Boheme, Bess in Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and Thais in Massenet's Thais. In 2009, she made her Los Angeles Philharmonic debut in a concert performance of Porgy and Bess at the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheater. As an actor, Goldsby has appeared on the CBS daytime drama As the World Turns and has had roles on primetime television shows. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Howard University and completed her graduate studies at The Juilliard School.
