Music and Museum - Bechtler Ensemble: Duets
LOCATION: FOURTH-FLOOR GALLERY
JANUARY 22 AT 6 P.M.Buy Tickets
Join the Bechtler Ensemble as they perform some of the best loved duets from the chamber music canon. Romantic Duets will be performed on Sunday, January 22 as part of the Music and Museum series. Accompanying cellist Tanja Bechtler will be Anatoly Larkin on piano.
The duet will play favorite baroque, classical and romantic duets by J.S. Bach, Richard Strauss and Sergey Rachmaninoff along with Dance of Marosszék, an homage to folk music from the Slovakian region by Hungarian composer, Zoltán Kodály. Kodály crafted instrumental arrangements from traditional vocal folk music that could be heard in nearly every village in the region. These “dance-songs”, most popular before World War I, are suggestive of the image of Transylvania, once called “Fairyland”.
Tanja wishes to dedicate the concert the training of Practice HORA, an evolutionary sustainable health practice that interconnects the body, mind and nervous system.
