Considered one of the founders of both Minimalism and Conceptual Art, the American artist Sol LeWitt (1908–2007) is primarily known for his deceptively simple geometric structures and architecturally scaled wall drawings.

This month’s Music and Museum is inspired by Sol LeWitt, whose vibrant large-scale Wall Drawing #995 is prominently displayed in the museum’s multi-story foyer. The Bechtler Ensemble pairs Russian composer Andrew Popoff's cool and minimalistic style, Estonian composer of classical and religious music Arvo Pärt's clean lines, Kazakh composer and pedagogue Gaziza Zhubanova's calm harmonies, and American composer Terry Riley who pioneered a form in Western music based on structured interlocking repetitive patterns as well as classical elements such as instrumentation and tonality altogether for a cornucopia of harmonious performance.

Concert tickets are $10 for members, $14 for nonmembers, and $5 for students (with proof of ID). Advance registration is required to guarantee seating. Each concert is 60 minutes with no intermission. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and concerts begin at 6 PM. Cash bar available.
