
Pop to Now: Collector and Artists Talk

In conjunction with the Bechtler’s newest exhibition, Pop to Now: Warhol and His Legacy, we invite you to a special presentation and artists talk hosted by Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Executive Director Todd D. Smith alongside collector and founder of Aktion Art, Nick Hissom.
This free evening program features art collector and Warhol muse Jane Holzer, Aktion Art gallery owner Nick Hissom, and contemporary artists ThankYouX, HEES, and Kristin McIver, featured in the exhibition. The group will discuss Andy Warhol, his legacy, and his impact on their art and lives, as well as explore today’s art world, including the state of digital art and the emergence of NFTs.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
On view September 10, 2022-January 2, 2023, the exhibition Pop to Now: Warhol and His Legacy, developed in partnership with Aktion Art, features select works by Warhol, Basquiat, and Haring and follows their influence on pop culture, music, fashion and art through a mix of works on canvas, as well as unique objects and memorabilia from the heady years of the Pop Art movement to today’s cultural landscape of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), digital and data-driven art. Designed as a cultural celebration of the landmark pop artists of this century, Pop to Now pays homage to the innovative creatives who have inspired billions, shattered ceilings, and created iconic moments.
