See All Three
LOCATION: LEVINE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
SUNDAY, JANUARY 21 FROM 1-3 P.M.
Many of us seek to reconstruct familial or ancestral pasts that have been lost or taken from us. Art is a particularly powerful and poignant way to investigate identity, a theme discussed in our next See All Three tour.
Join Levine Center for the Arts curators and experts for the next See All Three event where they discuss these issues through the works on view at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the Mint Museum Uptown and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.
The theme will be "Re/Constructing: Identity and Personal Narrative." The Bechtler portion of the tour will focus on Maestros mexicanos de la fotografía moderna where photographers not only created a series of photographs around this theme, but in many cases received government support to do so.
The tour will also cover the Mint's Reveal and Detonate (Develar y Detonar), and provide one of the final chances to see Simple Passion, Complex Vision at the Gantt Center. Tours will be followed by a complimentary light reception and mingling.
The See All Three tour is Sunday, January 21 from 1-3 p.m. The tour meets in the lobby of the Harvey B. Gantt Center of African-American Arts + Culture (551 S. Tryon St.).
This tour is open FREE to all Sustainer, Firebird, and Modernist members of the Bechtler, as well as equivalent levels at the other two museums. To RSVP or upgrade your membership, contact email@example.com. Click here for more information about membership levels.
