With an impressive collection and nationally renowned exhibitions, the Bechtler Museum’s mission is to share the joy and excellence of the collection so everyone can be inspired, informed and have their cultural and intellectual life enhanced. From special members-only events, Jazz at the BechtlerSchool Tours, Family Days, Modernism + Film, Guest Lectures and a commitment to making the museum accessible and inclusive to those with disabilities, the Bechtler is more than a museum – it is the cultural heart of Charlotte, North Carolina.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

Due to the ongoing concerns about COVID-19, we will remain closed until it is safe to resume daily and programmatic museum operations. All Bechtler programs and events are canceled until further notice. In these challenging times, the financial implications of COVID-19 will have a significant impact on the Bechtler, and all arts and culture institutions across our country. We feel a responsibility to be diligent in supporting current recommendations regarding “social distancing”. As we enter the spring season, we join many other museums in making the difficult, but necessary decision to postpone annual fundraising events.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art’s 2020 Gala, “Illumination,” scheduled for May 2, is postponed and will be rescheduled for the fall. We also understand that the effect of our current events have left no individual, family or business untouched, and we look forward to a celebratory Gala when we all persevere through this current situation and the time is right.

If you would like to exchange your ticket for future dates or receive a refund, please email info@bechtler.org or call 704.353.9209. If you would like to waive your refund and contribute your current ticket purchase to the Bechtler, no action needed, and we thank you for your understanding and support.

We thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these unprecedented times. Our staff look forward to reopening to the public as soon as it is safe, and we look forward to welcoming each of you back to the Bechtler.
