The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is located in Center City Charlotte just blocks from I-77 and I-277 between Stonewall Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in the newly constructed Wells Fargo Cultural Campus. The Bechtler is joined on the cultural campus by the Knight Theater, Mint Museum Uptown (opening fall 2010) and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.

PARKING

Bechtler Museum of Modern Art visitors receive discounted parking at the Wells Fargo Cultural Campus Garage at 550 South Tryon Street. The visitor entrance is located on West Stonewall Street.

Visitors must bring their ticket to the museum admission desk for validation. Daily rates for museum visitors are $1 for the first half hour and $1 for each additional half hour.

PUBLIC TRANSPORATION

Charlotte Area Transit System bus routes 2, 16, 18 and 19 stop within walking distance of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.

The Charlotte Area Transit System’s Gold Rush Trolley (a free Center City shuttle) stops within walking distance of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.

The nearest LYNX Light Rail stop to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is the 3rd Street Station at the Charlotte Convention Center.
