Virtual Cocktails + Conversations: Jazz Edition
This month’s Cocktails + Conversation features Ziad Rabie, saxophonist and artistic director of Jazz at the Bechtler, Charlotte's longest-running monthly jazz series where “mid-century art meets mid-century music.” Bob Scheer, Vice President of Development, joins Ziad as they discuss all things jazz, including the history of the program, the impact of Jazz at the Bechtler, and share memories and photographs from the legacy and influence that former Executive Vice President, Christopher Lawing had in creating of one of Charlotte's most popular music events.
“Cocktails + Conversation: Jazz Edition” was the formal kick-off for the 2020/2021 Virtual Jazz at the Bechtler season, that launched July 17. The July concert featured Ziad Rabie, and the Ziad Jazz Quartet playing a memorial concert dedicated to Christopher Lawing and a decade of Jazz at the Bechtler. Click here to view the concert.
